Town to get new estate

-

A SMALL town southwest of Toowoomba could get its first major subdivision in a decade, after plans were lodged with the council.

Applicant Tuana Park Pty Ltd submitted the proposal last week to turn two lots on Margetts Street in Pittsworth into 35 residential allotments.

According to the planning report by Property Projects Australia, the lots would range from nearly 900 sqm to more than 1800 sqm.

“The site is located on the easternmost fringe of Pittsworth, approximately 420m distance from the CBD and along the main arterial connecting Pittsworth and Felton,” the report said.

“The proposal is to be constructed over two stages — stage one will involve the delivery of 18 lots to the south of the subject site, while stage two will involve 17 lots towards the northern portion.”

Reports were also lodged around stormwater, engineering and traffic.

The proposal is the first significant subdivision for the small town in 10 years, with a 20-lot development on Daniel Street in 2011 the most recent one, according to the council’s planning and development portal.
