Raid nets ‘shrooms’ and pot

- JESSICA PAUL

A WARWICK FIFO worker has faced court after he was busted with a stash of homegrown magic mushrooms and marijuana in his house.

Police raided Kyle Anthony Hall’s Warwick home on July 22. Warwick Magistrates Court heard officers found seven marijuana seedlings growing in a pot. Prosecutor Bettina Trenear said the 41year-old told officers he was growing the marijuana for himself and soon came clean about other drugs in his house.

Ms Trenear said police then found 31g of magic mushrooms that Hall had grown.

Defence lawyer Bonnie O’Brien told the court her client was given the seeds and planted them as an experiment before flying out for work, and planned to use the drug to alleviate his anxiety.

Hall pleaded guilty to two counts of producing dangerous drugs and a further count of possessing dangerous drugs.

He was fined $700 and no conviction was recorded.
