ART GALLERY WITH A TWIST MOVES TO ROWES

- MICHAEL NOLAN

INNOVATIVE interior design business, The Toowoomba Gallery, has opened the doors to its new home in the redeveloped Rowes complex.

The business takes the traditional art gallery model and complements it with an interior design consultancy.

Owners Niki Hall and Bec Statton invite clients into their gallery to view art work and also visit their homes or businesses to find the right piece to suit their style.

The moves comes after the partners tested their concept in a CBD premises provided by the Toowoomba Regional Council and Renew Australia’s Creative CBD Project.

“The support we received has been incredible and well beyond our expectations,” Ms Hall said.

The partners soon outgrew that initial space and the redeveloped Rowes complex, with its abundant use of natural light, was a natural fit.

The lease includes a large deck that the partners will use to host monthly exhibition openings.

“We are bringing some amazing artists to Toowoomba,” Ms Hall said.
