ONCE considered a low-skill industry, farm work and fruit picking in tropical Far North Queensland is now deemed a working holiday that is transformi­ng lives and careers.

With abundant fertile land and water supplies, agricultur­e is an important sector in the Far North, contributi­ng $925 million to the economy in 2018-19.
