A MAN is in hospital with a serious head injury and a crime scene has been established after a violent assault west of Toowoomba.
Police allege a 55-year-old Tara man hit a 22-year-old man in the head with a crowbar late Saturday afternoon.
While no charges have been laid, the 22-year-old man suffered a serious head wound and was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
A TARA man was flown to hospital with severe head injuries after he was allegedly struck with a metal bar at a rural Western Downs property at the weekend.
Police were called to a Kofoeds Road property in Tara about 6.15pm on Saturday, to reports of a disturbance between two men.
A Queensland Police spokeswoman said it’s alleged a 22-year-old threatened a 55year-old Tara man with a shovel, before he was struck with a metal bar.
The spokeswoman said the 22-year-old suffered head injuries, including a broken jaw, and was transported to Tara Hospital.
He was later flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
No charges have been laid.
