Fireys put out flames

FIREFIGHTERS rushed to the scene of a kitchen blaze which erupted inside a Maranoa home at the weekend.

Three crews were called to the Creek St house in Amby, 40 minutes west of Roma, about 4.05pm on Saturday.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said reports suggested the fire started in the kitchen, and crews had it under control by about 4.30pm.

She said no residents were home at the time of the blaze.
