Fire threat to home

A TARA home was saved from utter destruction after an outof-control blaze began licking the corners of the house.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency spokeswoman said a pile of burning rubbish near Ridge Rd almost spread to the home.

After hearing a loud bang and seeing smoke from a neighbouring property, a concerned resident was quick to lend a hand, transporting two tanks of water to stop the blaze spreading. Four fire crews were sent to the property. The fire didn’t spread to the house, although one corner was burnt.
