Campaign aiming to save water

- TOM GILLESPIE

THE Toowoomba Regional Council has launched a new water saving campaign to help residents find innovative ways of conserving our most precious resource.

TRC water and waste chair Councillor Rebecca Vonhoff said residents were well accustomed to adhering to the various water restriction levels that operated across the region.

“People are doing the right thing. We know residents are committed to conserving water,” she said.

“The new campaign offers helpful reminders about water saving tips that can have a cumulative effect on our overall water consumption.

“The campaign follows on from our previous efforts around water conservation and asks all residents to consider their water usage around the home and yard.

“We are experiencing a prolonged drought, and we need to think about how our actions can help future generations.”

The region’s combined dam levels are currently at 30.5 per cent. For the full list of water saving tips, dam levels and water restrictions, visit tr.qld.gov.au/beawatersaver.
