New CBD service station to open

- MADISON MIFSUD-URE

MOTORISTS looking to fill up in Warwick will soon have another petrol station to choose from with Mobil service station set to open next week.

Developing group Pearl Energy spokesman Paul Molenda said despite a slight delay, the new development was on track to open on Monday.

“We are a little behind time due to the complexities of Covid and a number of our suppliers being also held up by delays caused by Covid,” he said.

The 3151sq m site has been fitted out to accommodate more than a dozen cars and several trucks.

Mr Molenda said there would be a convenience store and a separate truck filling canopy on the site.

“This will cater to the needs of drivers of heavy vehicles and will allow for a better movement and accessibility to our fuel dispensers for our local and travelling customers,” he said.

The store will also offer specials such as $1 fresh coffee to “encourage customers to return for some valuable savings”.

Mr Molenda said the Mobil brand prided itself on fuel excellence and offering a convenient service.

“We are just happy to look forward and open a facility that we are confident will be welcomed by the local community,” he said.

The Mobil station is on the corner of main roads Wood and Guy Sts, the site of former St Mary’s tennis court and squash courts which were demolished last year.

The new service station will operate no less than 15 hours a day, seven days a week.

Sydney-based developer Pearl Energy developed the site and would operate the petrol station.
