The Test match was ruined by rain, a lifeless pitch and conservative batting, but those three things shouldn’t be an issue now the T20 portion of the Australia v India series has started. The Aussies had no chance of victory after they were effectively batted out of the contest on the Gold Coast, but they return to a format they have dominated for years, and they get some quality bowlers back as well. The hosts should be good enough to clinch the series, but the Indians are strong competition, especially with the swinging ball.
