Afghani dinner fundraiser

-

TOOWOOMBA woman Frances Holmes has joined the team at UNHCR as a volunteer along with leaders of Toowoomba interfaith community represented by Bishop Cameron Venables with running a fundraising dinner to raise much needed funds to support the Afghani people.

Afghanistan is rapidly deteriorating and the country is on the verge of a devastating humanitarian catastrophe.

Members of the Toowoomba community can help by attending an authentic Afghani dinner, lovingly prepared by our Afghan community.

Our Afghan community will share their stories of hopes for the future of Afghanistan at the dinner at the Cathedral Centre, Neil Street, on November 6 from 6pm.

Tickets cost $70 and can be bought at https://queenslandtickets.com.au/event/14505

Or you can show your support through making a donation to Australia for UNHCR’s Afghanistan Emergency Appeal at https://afghanistan-emergency2021.raisely.com/toowoomba

UNHCR, as part of the broader UN country team and lead in protection and emergency shelter in Afghanistan, is well prepared to stay and deliver humanitarian assistance.
