Traffic lights

-

YEARS ago I wrote, disheartened, about the growing numbers of red lights in Toowoomba.

The numbers seem to have stalled recently because, obviously, we have run out of corners to put them on.

Am I alone in this predicament or do you, dear readers, seem to be halted by an over zealous red light system way more than 50 per cent of the time?

As a sales representative, I spend a lot of time driving and one day, for fun, I counted the difference in red lights to green. The score, 43-6.

It takes longer to cross Toowoomba than it does to traverse Brisbane and when you return you are always greeted by a red light first up.

It recently took me 59 minutes to get to Crows Nest. I left work and got every red right through our city and, of course the obligatory one on Mt Kynoch, followed by three more in Highfields.

Mort Street (north) has been ruined and these one direction at a time lights are a joke. Surely I’m not the only sufferer.
