T20 newcomers share the big stage
SUNDAY 9PM
The T20 World Cup gets under way on Sunday night with a clash between co-host Oman and Papua New Guinea. These teams won’t challenge for the title, but it’s great for cricket in their countries to get matches on such a big stage. Australia’s World Cup starts the following week against South Africa, and it will need to produce something special if it is to go all the way. The West Indies are the defending champions, and stars of all the big teams should have no excuses after they got plenty of game time during the Indian Premier League.
