YOU’VE CAT TO BE KITTEN ME RIGHT MEOW

- GRACE BALDWIN

ZAKI the cat was lucky enough to find refuge with owner Eliza Malerba through the Cat Protection Society of Victoria’s program Happily Furever After.

With heterochromatic eyes, Zaki’s dashing good looks are outweighed only by his charm.

In homage to her Italian and Greek heritage, Ms Malerba taught her furry friend to kiss her on either cheek.

“He kisses like a wog,” she said.

More than 1500 cats and kittens are surrendered to the CPSV each year, many of which are unvaccinated, not yet desexed, or in need of urgent medical attention.

The CPSV cares for these down and out cats and once they are healthy enough to be adopted, they enter the Happily Furever After program to be scouted out by their prospective owners.

Ms Malerba said even though she was the one to rescue Zaki, it was really he who rescued her.
