EXPANSION FOR GEM OF STORE

- RHYLEA MILLAR

IT ALL started from a few gemstones, preloved tools and a big dream, but now the couple behind a boutique jewellery store has expanded their bespoke brand into a space that is three times the size of their current store.

Next month Ewen and Christel Ryley will bid their Ryley Jewellery Creations store adieu in The Chronicle Arcade and open the doors to their new high-end studio on Ruthven St’s Kwong Sang Walk.

Clients can expect to see an openview manufacturing studio, spotted gum staircase and luxurious champagne and whiskey bar, at the new custom-designed store.

“We believe our jewellery is like art, and each piece tells a different story,” Ms Ryley said.

“They are lifelong pieces that are handed down to generations and hold a lot of sentimental value, so we’re really focusing on providing an experience to clients who should come with purchasing bespoke jewellery.”

And while Covid-19 presented challenges for some businesses, the couple’s brand has only flourished.

Along with the new space, the couple will hire three more employees, bringing the total to eight.
