RAIN FALLS ACROSS THE GRANITE BELT

- MADISON MIFSUD-URE

STANTHORPE received 18mm of rain on Monday, with locals and those in the wider community taking the time to spend some time indoors.

Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Peter Claassen said that across the Granite Belt on Monday there was between 5mm and 25mm of rain.

“In Stanthorpe there was 18mm,” he said.

Mr Claassen said Stanthorpe residents could still expect some “hit and miss” thunderstorms overnight and into Tuesday.

“Most locations would miss any form of rainfall, it’s only popcorn showers and thunderstorms that are up and down, not widespread.
