RED-HOT KATE IN PLEA FOR ADDICTS
LONDON: Wearing a striking all-red outfit, the Duchess of Cambridge turned a lot of heads at her latest royal engagement, where she warned drug dependency could affect anyone.
Kate wore a $1500 pleated Christopher Kane skirt, teamed with a $415 Ralph Lauren turtle neck knit, $846 Ralph Lauren heels and a micro-bag from DeMellier — which had a $543 price tag.
She sported the red-hot ensemble to the Taking
Action on Addiction launch in London, where she delivered a keynote speech and spoke with popular British
Ant McPartlin, who opened up about his own battle with drug addiction.
”Addiction is not a choice. No one chooses to become an addict. But it can happen to any one of us. None of us is immune,” the Duchess of Cambridge, 39, said in her address.
”Yet it’s all too rarely discussed as a mental health condition, and seldom do we take the time to uncover and understand its root causes.”
She urged more action to help addicts, rather than punish them, and called on communities to “help remove the taboo and shame that surrounds it”.
