Ant McPartlin, who opened up about his own battle with drug addiction.

”Addiction is not a choice. No one chooses to become an addict. But it can happen to any one of us. None of us is immune,” the Duchess of Cambridge, 39, said in her address.

”Yet it’s all too rarely discussed as a mental health condition, and seldom do we take the time to uncover and understand its root causes.”

She urged more action to help addicts, rather than punish them, and called on communities to “help remove the taboo and shame that surrounds it”.
