Ziggy’s now trim and terrific

-

WHEN Leah and Nathan Gamble adopted Ziggy the bulldog from Mini’s Bulldog Rescue shelter, they wanted to give her the best life.

But Ziggy’s weight became an issue when she tore her cruciate ligament and couldn’t exercise. The weight gain made the injury even worse.

“I advised Leah and Nathan to reduce Ziggy’s calorie intake, stop the treats and any kibble and transition her across to Big Dog Raw Food diet as the frozen patties are easier to portion and keep tab of the calories,” Lara Shannon says.

“She trimmed down and had her surgery so is now doing fine. It’s really important for flat-faced breeds and bulldogs to be kept at a good weight (as it is for all dogs) but particularly for them to help with their breathing and other injuries they are prone to due to their size and shape.”
