Quarantine facility

-

WELLCAMP quarantine facility coming under political fire.

When first proposed, the cabins were an essential tool to keep Queensland free of Covid. But the policy changed in December.

Now that the spotlight has moved, the aged are being left to die quietly and unnoticed. Testing is being wound back to those willing to buy a test at the supermarket and the disease is allowed to continue its invisible spread.

The consolation is that there are many possible other uses for the accommodation, maybe for arriving backpackers, unlike white elephants like unused desalination plants or the Wivenhoe pipeline.
