SPACE FOR STUDENTS NOW OPEN
A 40-year building has had a facelift at the University of Southern Queensland and was officially unveiled to the public last night.
The B Block Building, located at the front of the Toowoomba campus, will now host an art gallery, office and function areas – a cultural hub for students and staff alike.
“These renovations have seen the gateway to our campus reborn as an open space, with doors wide open for our students and the wider community to enjoy,” Vice Chancellor Professor Geraldine Mackenzie said.
“This shows our renewed commitment to celebrating our long traditions while creating a lasting legacy for those to come.”
The first exhibition held within the new art gallery was titled A Walk Amongst The Trees and was produced by local artists including USQ alumni David Hinchliffe.
The exhibition was a tribute to the iconic Japanese gardens, located near the main campus.
