DISGRACED TOOWOOMBA CAR SALESMAN BACK BEFORE COURT

- PETER HARDWICK

DISGRACED former Toowoomba car salesman David James Craigen has had charges against him adjourned in the city’s magistrates court.

The 54-year-old, who in August 2021 was jailed for four years with a non-parole period of nine months after having pleaded guilty to a $150,000 fraud offence dating back to 2018/19, had recently been released from custody.

He was not required to be in court for mention of his matters on Tuesday and was represented by Sophie Ford.

Ms Ford said they were yet to receive a brief of evidence.

Craigen has not been asked to enter any pleas to the charges of one count of “fraud to the value of $30,000 but less than $100,000” and eight counts of stealing.

Magistrate Kay Ryan remanded Craigen on bail and adjourned the case to July 5.
