APOLOGY FOR CRAP IDEA
OTTAWA: A Canadian MP has apologised for Zooming into a parliamentary video session from a toilet cubicle.
A rival MP recognised the background when Liberal MP Shafqat Ali logged into the session from a bathroom in the House of Commons in Ottawa last Friday.
“The camera was mounted on the ledge or ridge on the wall just above the back of the toilet,” the MP said.
Conservative House leader John Brassard told the house he needed to raise the “occurrence of misconduct”.
“Those who witnessed the events quite clearly saw the Liberal MP enter what appeared to be a toilet stall,” Mr Brassard said.
An hour later, Mr Ali Zoomed into parliament to apologise for the “lapse in judgment.” “I take this matter extremely seriously, and I promise never to repeat this error again,” he said.
