INGREDIENT­S CHEWY CHOCOLATE SLICE

MAKES ABOUT 16 PIECES PREP 5 MINS. COOK 15 MINS

• 1 cup brown sugar

• ¾ cup plain flour

• 1 tsp baking powder

• 3 tbsp cocoa powder

• ½ cup coconut

• 1 egg, lightly beaten

• ½ tsp vanilla essence

• 125g butter, melted

• Chocolate icing

METHOD

1 Preheat oven to 180C. Mix all dry ingredient­s together, add egg and vanilla essence and mix, then stir in melted butter. 2 Press into a slice tin and bake for 10-15 minutes or until soft to touch and brown on top.

3 Cool, ice with chocolate icing and slice.

Note: This is an easy recipe to double.
