- Fashion editor ANNABEL FALCO annabelfalco

When it comes to fabulous, fun wardrobes, none quite compares to Nova co-host Joel Creasey’s, where Balenciaga bags, skinny jeans and Kenzo suiting sit comfortably alongside socks and Birkenstocks. With Harry Styles and Sarah Jessica Parker as fashion inspiration, it’s no wonder Joel can make his impressive track pant and Vans sneaker collection work day-to-day, where a polished approach to styling proves valuable. Joel’s fashion choices and quick one-liners make for an entertaining wardrobe tour!

How would you describe your personal style?

Ever-changing and evolving. Traditional with a little quirk. Mutton dressed as lamb?

Who are your style icons? Harry Styles, Sarah Jessica Parker are my two all-time favourites but most of my style icons are my friends. I love how bold and daring my friend Bradley is. My mate Kyle is always classic and beautifully groomed and then I follow lots of fashion stylish guys on Insta who I borrow (completely steal) ideas from.

What’s the oldest thing in your wardrobe?

I had a pair of jeans that comfortably, over time, just moulded to my legs and I adored them. Kills me the skinny style is “so uncool” right now but I’m keeping hold of them. I’ve had them tailored and fixed upwards of 10 times!

What are your favourite brands?

Balenciaga, Dior, Dries Van Noten and Gucci are my “treat yourself” favourites. I bought a Balenciaga overnight bag in Monte Carlo recently and it’s simply delicious and blew out my holiday budget. Anything stocked in Incu, they are my one-stop shop. The amount of times I’ve asked friends while on tour, “Is there an Incu in this city?” I love their house brand (their basics are the most reliable of all time). Maison Kitsune, Comme des Garcons, Casablanca are a few of my other loves. Sportswear-wise I’m a Nike gal.

Have you ever made a style faux pas?

Weekly. I can never seem to get my Comedy Gala outfits right. I love outfits I’ve worn on panel shows and hosting my own shows but Comedy Galas specifically I always seem to stuff up.

What’s the most you’ve spent on an outfit?

I’m truly not sure but I do remember buying a $4000 Kenzo suit for my first Logies. This was before I learnt about stylists and loaning clothes. I was trembling when I handed over my card.

Most surprising thing in your wardrobe?

I love socks and Birkenstocks. I find them so sexy and I don’t care what anybody says. I also have a whole wardrobe dedicated to “cosy wear”. So. Many. Trackpants.

Top three wardrobe must haves? Black chinos, a pair of white kicks … and great loungewear of course!

Most sentimental item in your wardrobe? I’ve never been able to throw away clothes my parents have bought me. They have often been for special occasions and career milestones. My boyfriend’s grey hoodie also now basically belongs to me.

What would you buy if money was no object?

A gorgeous watch. Rolex or something totally cliche.

How many pairs of shoes do you own?

I have a soft spot for a well-worn pair of Vans so they started to build up. 80 pairs?
