Detonator ready to explode in Derby

Last year it was Explosive Jack, now the Ciaron Maher-David Eustace and John Allen combination is aiming to win the Group 1 South Australian Derby (2500m) with Detonator Jack. Allen is also chasing his fifth SA Derby success since 2016. Unbeaten gelding Detonator Jack has drawn wide in barrier 15 and is the second favourite behind Godolphin stayer Alegron, who has firmed in betting after drawing barrier three. Alegron has finished in the Australian and Victoria Derby placings. Harleymoven is the best local hope.
