Shooting victim dies in hospital
A TOOWOOMBA man ambushed on a city street and shot in the head in dramatic scenes has died in hospital.
Police revealed the death of Thor Stephen Morgan (pictured) on Monday morning, more than two months after he was shot in the early hours of March 15.
A murder investigation has now been launched, and police are appealing for anyone with information on the incident to come forward.
No charges have been laid in the months since the incident.
TOOWOOMBA Police have officially launched a homicide investigation after a man who was shot in the head just over two months ago died in hospital.
Officers believe 25-year-old Thor Stephen Morgan (pictured below) was tracked by a group of people from his girlfriend’s house in Coonan St, Harlaxton in the early hours of March 15 and ambushed in his car on Ruthven St near Downlands College.
Initial investigations revealed a number of shots were fired, one of which struck Mr Morgan in the head.
It is believed the shooters were in a white Ford Ranger dual cab utility which was later found torched in Felton.
Mr Morgan was transferred to Princess Alexandra Hospital following the incident, where he remained until his death on Monday morning.
Toowoomba detectives, with the assistance of the Homicide Investigation Unit, are still appealing for information into the circumstances.
Police are yet to charge anyone over the incident.
