ARGUMENT BETWEEN WOMEN ENDS IN ALLEGEDLY TORCHED CAR

- JARRARD POTTER

A WOMAN has been charged with arson after she allegedly set fire to another woman’s car following a dispute in Millmerran.

Police allege that about 10.30pm on Sunday, May 15, a 26-year-old Millmerran woman set fire to a vehicle parked on Walpole Street using an accelerant, before fleeing the scene.

It’s believed the incident took place after the woman and another woman were involved in a dispute, with the pair known to each other. The vehicle, a 2017 Nissan X-Trail, was completely destroyed, however, no one was injured.

Following inquiries police arrested the 26-year-old at a Lola Avenue address, and she was charged with arson of a motor vehicle. She was denied police bail and was due to appear in Warwick Magistrates Court on Monday.
