CAR-NAGE IN ROME

- The London Times

A Saudi man who drove a Maserati down the Spanish Steps in Rome has claimed he was following his sat-nav.

The man, who has not been named, smashed some of the historic stone steps as his rented Maserati Levante SUV careered down them at 4am on May 12.

While driving along the street at the top of the steps in the company of a woman he met that evening, the man veered left down the steps then stopped.

Video shows him getting out of the car while the woman starts yelling. He now faces a hefty bill to repair the damage.
