Pipeline to Allora breaks

-

WATER carting to the Allora Reservoir started yesterday following a break in the Warwick-Allora pipeline last week.

Toowoomba Regional Council, in partnership with Southern Downs Regional Council, provided two trucks for the operation to deliver Warwick water from Mount Marshall to the reservoir following the break, which happened on Friday.

Southern Downs Regional Council Infrastructure Services director Gary Murphy said water would be tested and monitored to ensure it complied with relevant standards.

“Given the Warwick-Allora water pipeline runs through Mount Marshall, the carted water is the exact same water supplied to the Allora community every day of every other week,” Mr Murphy said.

After overnight rain at Allora yesterday the water trucks had difficulty accessing the reservoir and minor work was conducted to ensure safe access.

Mr Murphy said council was aware of some impacts on shared property and would restore or repair any damage once the carting operation had concluded.
