Filmmaker dies in crash

THE man killed in a singlevehi­cle crash south of Kingaroy was a former Hervey Bay journalist and local filmmaker, it has been confirmed.

Joshuah Buckle, 36, was driving north on Coolabunia Rd on Friday, May 13, when his vehicle left the road and hit a tree.

He died at the scene. The father-of-three previously worked for the Hervey Bay Independen­t newspaper as a journalist.

Buckle also worked as a filmmaker and was a published author, including The Rise in 2014 and Novus in 2018.

Police are continuing to investigat­e the crash.

Around 5.30pm on Friday, a motorist travelling south on Coolabunia Rd came across Buckle’s crashed Hyundai and raised the alarm.

South Burnett Forensic Crash Investigat­ors will prepare a report for the coroner and are appealing for witnesses, especially those with dashcam footage capturing the moments leading up to and including the crash, to come forward.
