AHEAD of World Whiskey Day this Saturday, new data has revealed how Australians take their whiskey.

Hospitality tech innovator me&u says Canadian Club is Australia’s favourite whiskey, followed by Johnnie Walker, Jameson, Fireball and Chivas.

Canadian Club was a clear winner, taking out top spot in NSW, Victoria and Queensland, with Johnnie Walker and Jameson switching between second and third.

Me&u has also taken a look at the ways in which Aussies are drinking whiskey, with the most popular combination being in a cocktail of dry and lime. Next up is a neat or straight whiskey, followed by a whiskey and Coke and whiskey on the rocks.

The data also unveiled some of the more interesting ways Australians take their whiskey, including with lemonade, apple or orange juice and even with a straw.
