SEARCH FOR MISSING MAN SUSPENDED

- JARRARD POTTER

FLOOD water in the state’s south has hampered efforts in the search for missing Ballandean man Keiran Wilson.

The 26-year-old was last seen around 9am on Friday, May 13, driving away from his Ballandean home.

In the days since, Mr Wilson has failed to make contact with family for friends, and concerns are held for his welfare.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the search has been temporarily suspended until flood waters recede.

“Police on foot and horseback, SES volunteers, police dive squad, swift water rescue, local property owners, helicopters and drones have assisted in the extensive search operation since May 15,” the spokeswoman said.

”The Severn River has been searched in the area however the search has been impacted by dangerous and fast-flowing flood waters and large amounts of debris.

”The river will be monitored and the search recommenced when flood waters adequately recede to expose areas within the search area that are currently under water and unsafe to thoroughly search.”

Anyone with information on Mr Wilsons’s whereabouts, or his vehicle, are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
