MOULD HELP

-

As in the Chronicle the other day, with the wet mould is becoming a problem especially in larger areas. To get rid of it can be a problem. It’s not enough to wipe off and leave the spores need to be killed.

Spray affected areas with pure white vinegar.

Leave for an hour then wipe off with a microfibre cloth.

Add bicarb, baking soda to water to remove difficult patches, but take care of the paint.

We only want to remove the mould not the paint too.

Then respray with pure vinegar. But to keep mould away the spores need to be killed.

The best option is Oil of Cloves, but use carefully as it can irritate.

One teaspoon of Oil of Cloves per litre of water will kill most spores.

Let the mix on for 20 minutes then respray and leave on.

Stained areas may need to be done with a bleach solution to get the paint back to normal.

The important thing is to be rid of the moisture and condensation that is the cause of the problem.

Open doors and windows as much as practical, and wear a breathing mask. as mould is toxic and can case serious allergy problems
