Man in court on car theft
A 26-YEAR-OLD Toowoomba man, who has been charged in relation to the alleged theft of a black 2017 Audi from a Godfrey St home on Monday, has appeared in the city’s Magistrates Court.
Russell William Gilliis remained in the watch house, with his solicitor Claire Graham telling the court there would be no application for bail at this stage.
Ms Graham said she would be seeking some CCTV footage of alleged events and asked for an adjournment.
Gilliis, a 30-year-old man and two 14-year-old boys are accused of being in the allegedly stolen vehicle when apprehended on Tuesday.
Gilliis was not required to enter pleas to five counts of unlawful use of motor vehicles, three of disqualified driving, and one each of obstructing police and failing to appear in court.
There being no application for bail, Acting Magistrate Kay Ryan remanded Gilliis in custody and adjourned all matters for mention back in the same court on June 9.
