1908 JAMES STEWART American actor

Stewart’s career spanned 80 films from 1935 until 1991. He won a Best actor Oscar for the 1940 film The Philadelph­ia Story, which also starred Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant. He was nominated for an Oscar five times.

1943 DERYCK MURRAY West Indian cricketer

Murray kept wicket to the West Indies pace attacks of the 1970s which included the likes of Andy Roberts, Michael Holding, Joel Garner and Colin Croft. His glovework effected 189 Test dismissals. Murray also scored 1993 Test runs.

1944 JOE COCKER English musician

Cocker’s first album included a cover of the Beatles song With a Little Help from My Friends, which topped the British charts. Cocker released 22 studio albums during a 43year recording career.

Mateschitz is the cofounder and 49 per cent owner of the Red Bull energy drink company. He also owns Formula 1 racing teams and numerous soccer teams. In October, 2021, Mateschitz’s net worth was estimated to be $25.4bn.

1946 CHER American singer

Cher gained popularity in 1965 as one half of the husband-wife duo Sonny & Cher. As a solo artist, Cher has sold more than 100 million albums. Cher won an Oscar for her performanc­e in the 1987 film Moonstruck.
