WHETHER you are looking for relaxation or a challenge, there is something happening for everyone this weekend in Toowoomba. Get among the crafting marathon at CraftAlive, paint your own masterpiec­e or take on the ‘Rotary Run The Range’ challenge.

Here’s 10 things on this weekend:

1. Madhatter’s Tea Party

Participat­e in the Biggest Morning Tea Cancer Council Fundraiser this Saturday at Jillys Cafe from 10am-1pm. Funds raised from tickets and raffles will go towards cancer research, prevention programs and advocacy.

2. Crafting

Get crafting this weekend with handson, interactiv­e classes from craft experts across the world including Karla Gerome and Nathan Erznoznik. CraftAlive will be in Toowoomba all weekend at the Railway Goods Shed kicking off Saturday and Sunday at 9am.

3. Paint and sip

Pinot and Picasso are hosting two sessions this weekend to let you express your inner artist while having fun with your friends or family. Bring your own favourite snacks and sips to enjoy as you work on your masterpiec­e.

4. Sydney Writers Festival

Listen to the ideas and discussion­s all the way from the Sydney Writers Festival as the Empire Theatre live streams sessions from the event this weekend.

Hear from a diverse range of authors including Barrie Cassidy, Kate McClymont and Liane Moriarty across both days for free.

5. Women’s support event

Gather your girl gang and head to Bloom Holistic Collective for a morning of female empowermen­t, fun and morning tea.

Meet new friends and make connection­s with like-minded women this Sunday from 10am.

6. Community Open Day

Bring the whole family to Genius Toowoomba’s open day on Saturday from 9.30-11.30am and meet the childcare team.

There is plenty to keep the kids entertaine­d such as face painting and crafts, while parents can check out the facilities.

Genius Toowoomba is located at 855 Ruthven St.

7. Soccer

The South West Queensland Thunder is set to take on the Brisbane Strikers this Sunday at Clive Berghofer Stadium.

Guaranteed to be an exciting game, spend your Sunday afternoon supporting the Thunder at their home field.

Kick-off is at 3pm.

8. Run the range

Get involved in the Rotary Run The Range this Sunday and run, jog or walk while raising money for charity. This year is the fifth annual run with challengin­g trails on offer in both Jubilee and Redwood Parks starting at 6am.

9. Mystery bus dinner

There are three locations to accompany a three course meal on board the mystery bus this Saturday night with drinks available to purchase at each destinatio­n.

Set off on your journey from Queens Park at 4.30pm and bring along some cash for the raffle raising money for Norths Hockey.

Tickets are $55 per person and are available to purchase through Norths Hockey Facebook page.

10. Markets

Take your pick from the best makers and farmers markets on offer this weekend in Toowoomba.

The Makers Markets are on Sunday from 9am with food trucks, live music and handmade goodies at The Mills Precinct.

There are more than 70 market stalls to keep you entertaine­d and fed as you browse.

Head to the Toowoomba Farmers Market on Saturday and support the farmers battling through the recent flooding devastatio­n.

There is a wide selection of fresh and local food stalls open 7am-noon under the windmills at Cobb+Co Museum.
