Ibis and the garden

-

I WAS blessed the other day to go and sit quietly at one of the most beautiful gardens in Toowoomba -The Japanese gardens.

As I looked across the pond there were the usual suspects – locals, tourists, ducks and of course my favourite the bin chicken (the ibis).

This poor feathered creature is much maligned in the community as they are deemed to be nothing more than a scavenger.

They were there to embarrass me into dropping a morsel or two, however I had nothing to give. I had the opportunity to see one of these birds up close and they are truly beautiful in their own right. In God’s eyes they are made up of odd bits and pieces, very much like ourselves.

The garden is a place of tranquillity, and one can be lost in its magic.

Thankyou to those who donated, designed and manage the gardens; all the credit goes to you and of course the bin chickens who have made it their home.
