Lions show no mercy
RUGBY LEAGUE: The Newtown Lions women turned on a dominant attacking display with a 58-0 defeat of Brothers at the Jack Martin Centre.
The Leprechauns had some early ball, but once the Lions got their hands on it, they didn’t let up, running in 11 tries for the evening.
Forwards Kiara Taylor and Tegan Gibbs were unstoppable through the middle of the field, while five-eighth Paige Edwards turned in her best performance of the season, including a 70m try from a kick-off.
It solidifies second spot on the TRL women’s ladder for the Lions, behind Gatton in first place.
