St Albans running hot

-

FOOTBALL: After a dissappointing loss to Willowburn, Highfields Gold will be eager to get back on the winner’s list this weekend.

Willowburn proved why they have been the competition benchmark for years with a convincing 3-0 win away from home.

Highfields will need to be at their best this weekend when they face a USQ FC outfit eager to keep their top four hopes alive.

Playing away from home, Rockville will be eager to maintain their recent impressive run of form with a third straight win.

Rovers will face a Highfields Green squad full of confidence after an impressive showing against USQ FC last weekend.

At home this Sunday, West Wanderers have the unenviable task of playing host to Willowburn.

Wanderers are coming off a 4-3 loss to Rockville Rubies in a match that thrilled fans.

In the other FQPL 3 women’s match, Hawks face Rubies.

Coming off a 6-0 loss to Rovers last week – the clash is a must-win for Hawks if they want to keep their place in the top four secure.

Rubies have shown great improvement in recent weeks and will fancy their chances of securing an upset.

FQPL3 Men

Defending premiers St Albans were down and out just a few weeks ago, but the Middle Ridge team have rocketed up the ladder in recent rounds.

A string of wins, and a wave of momentum has seen them climb out of the cellar to set up a top-of-the-table match this Sunday versus Willowburn.

West Wanderers take on Gatton on Saturday night.

With Gatton recently dropping out of the top four they’ll arrive at Wanderers with an attacking mind set.

Wanderers meanwhile will want to return to the winner’s circle after back-to-back losses.

Away from home, Rovers will also be keen to break a run of losses.

They will face bottom-ofthe-table Highfields on Saturday.
