Super seller Sally blooming in new career

- Greg Johnson

There we were, April 4, 2015 waiting for our bags to roll around on a luggage carousel at Los Angeles International Airport. We flew from Brisbane, aboard Qantas, and were bound for Mexico’s Puerto Vallarta aboard, of all airlines, Alaska Airlines and quite frankly I thought the aircraft might melt given the differences in temperature between Alaska and Mexico.

Mrs J and I had been invited to attend the wedding of two dear Toowoomba friends and I, surprisingly, had been invited to be master of ceremonies, on a beach in that faraway land.

Suddenly, an ever-so-friendly young woman bounced up to me and said “Greg!”

I was at sea, so I went for the introduction all-time winner, “I don’t believe you’ve met Mrs J.”

It worked a treat and Sally and Brett Harvey introduced themselves to Mrs J and we all had a jolly good time in Mexico.

It was a grand wedding and we’ve been friends with the Harveys ever since.

Sally is a local, born in Toowoomba, and lived her childhood years in Helidon where she attended primary school and later finished secondary education at St Saviour’s College.

Leaving school, she applied for a position as junior florist with Alice’s Flowers. In time she completed a TAFE two-year certificate and became store manager.

The big smoke beckoned so Sally headed to Brisbane and straight to a florist for employment.

Two years in Brisbane was enough and she returned home, still with the love of flowers in her blood and a new love, property investment.

2006 saw her with a new venture Blooming Gorgeous in Grand Central, which was then relocated to the corner of Hume and Herries streets. Sally and Brett sold Blooming Gorgeous earlier this year. Along the way the couple traded some 20 properties and while flowers would always be in Sally’s blood, love of real estate would take precedence.

Sally dreamt of a career in real estate, and she carefully looked at options before settling on the amazing Leanne Gillam, of Leanne Gillam Real Estate, as her mentor.

Leanne will be a great mentor particularly with her ethics and focus aligned approach to business.

Sally has taken to real estate like a duck to water – she lives it and breathes it and told me she adores watching buyers fall in love with the homes Leanne found for them.

This young lady is infectious, and it is likely her love of entertaining and watching movies will take a back seat while she helps more and more buyers fall in love with their dream homes.

And yes, she wears pink like Leanne!
