Police have charged two people following an alleged armed robbery at the Puma service station in Oakey.

They are 28-year-old Rockville man Aaron Sydney Green and 27-year-old Rockville woman Laishah Tempany Tighe.

Police allege two people entered the store shortly after 3pm on Monday and threatened two cashiers with a rifle.

The cashier handed over a sum of money and the pair fled in a white Commodore sedan.

The driver of the Volkswagen Tiguan sustained minor shoulder injuries.

The Commodore continued on and police continued to track the vehicle. Police then located the vehicle parked on Campbell Street, Newtown about 5.20pm.

The driver allegedly rammed a police vehicle and attempted to flee, crashing into a fence on nearby Mary Street. A man and woman were taken into custody at the scene.

Mr Green (pictured) was charged with 13 offences, including stealing, dangerous operation of a vehicle, evasion, armed robbery, unlawful possession of weapon and driving a motor vehicle without a driver licence.

Ms Tighe was charged with one count each of armed robbery and unlawful possession of a weapon.
