City Golf Club hosted 105 players on 29 May April for a Single Stroke part of the Burstows Challenge Series.

Friday June 2nd, 9.00am: Friday Social. Open triples. Everyone is welcome. Green fee is $15.00 includes light refreshmen­ts. Be there or names in by 8.30am.

Friday June 2nd, 6.00pm: Friday Night Dinner and Trivia Night – two course dinner and tea/coffee all for the low price of $20.00 per person. Following dinner, Cyril will host his hilarious trivia competitio­n. Names in the book please. Saturday June 3rd, 10.30am: RDO Shield Round 4 at North Toowoomba. Play starts at 10.30am 2 x 12-end games. Playing fee is $15 per player which includes lunch. The teams for this round are: Team 1 – B Humphrey, J May, C Clifford; Team 2 – W Tedford (Capt), M Robinson, M Rasmussen; Team 3 – J Cosgrove, D Utley, A Vosper; Team 4 – R Vosper, Gail Milsom, T Curry. Sunday June 4th, 12.00md: City vs Gatton at Gatton. Round 2 of the Uphill/

Downhill Ashes. The team will be selected this week. Cost is $20 per player. Club uniform is required. Please meet at City at 10.45am prior to travelling to Gatton. Volunteer rosters for week ending Sunday June 11th – Inside Team 4 and outside Team 3.

Tuesday June 6th, 1.00pm – 3.00pm: Coaching/practice/roll-ups. All members are invited to come along and seek to improve their game. Club coaches are available to help. Sunday’s Topp Electrical Jackpot Pairs saw a big win to Jim Cosgrove and Sue Martin. Other rink winners were Jim Moulden & Michael Burke; Diana Zeller & Graham Healy; Mark Rogers & Ali Cameron; Mick Bianchi & Don Lucas;

Ken Paulin & Cyril Curgenven and Jan Malt & Jeanette Gooderham. The pot did not go off and jackpots to $156 for our next Jackpot Pairs on June 11th.

Wednesday 24 May’s social bowls resulted in a win for Bill Kruger and John McConnell; while Chrys Robins and Don Wagner picked up second place. Attendance­s have been reasonable midweek, but we could easily accommodat­e more players on Wednesdays – so chuck the bowls bag in the carboot and head to Crows Nest. Good company, friendly rivalry and tasty halftime tidbits. South Green Update: Further to our notes last week we have confirmati­on that Gavin & the Undercover Contractor­s will be holding an informatio­n open forum regarding the constructi­on and timeline for the undercover Green on Tuesday 30th MAY at 4.30pm in the Sports Den. ALL MEMBERS are welcome to attend. As most of you know over the last week the Bowls Office has moved to what I believed was the old bowls shop. The office will be opened each day between 10am and 5pm for members to place names on the sheets and check the notice boards. The weekly sheets are located on the cupboard under the notice boards.
