Ball’s big anniversar­y

MILLMERRAN: The Millmerran Debutante Ball committee is preparing for another exciting event.

This year the ball will be held on Saturday, April 28 celebratin­g 80 years of the successful event.

This year past debutantes are invited to come join in the celebratio­ns to welcome this year’s debutantes Charlotte Kelly, partnered by Scott Grundon, and Georgia Briese, partnered by Bailey Kerr, in the traditiona­l coming out to society celebratio­n.

Toowoomba Mayor Paul Antonio and Father Thomas Areekuzhy, priest of the Millmerran Parish St Francis de Sales, will be in attendance to receive the debutantes.

The night’s entertainm­ent promises to have something for everyone.

Opening the ball and welcoming the debutantes will be “Raise The Barre” Ballerinas Charlotte and Lucy Taylor accompanie­d by Braxton Jarmey and Harry Farrington in an elegant presentati­on of classical ballet. Brenda Gillespie will provide Jive and Rock n Roll expertise and Aileen Taylor and her many wonderful helpers will show off their expertise in the ballroom and old-time dancing.
