Reynolds wants the last laugh

MOTORSPORT: Dave Reynolds has issued a warning to his rivals on the eve of the race that can propel him to the championship lead.

Driving for Holden underdog Erebus Motorsport, Reynolds is aiming to steal the championship lead from seven-time title winner Jamie Whincup at the Phillip Island 500.

“I haven’t been here before and I want to stay at the top of the grid,” he said. “I have probably been joking around a little more than usual because that is what I do when I am stressed.

“I do it to take the pressure of myself ... so yes the jokes will only get worse if I end up leading the championship.”
