Busi­ness women cel­e­brate suc­cess

WOMEN in Busi­ness Awards ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor Karen Phillips was proud of all the women who en­tered The Downs Women in Busi­ness Awards.

Toowoomba Hos­pi­tal Foun­da­tion chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Ali­son Kennedy was awarded as this year’s Downs Woman in Busi­ness of the Year on Thurs­day night at Gip’s Restau­rant.

Ms Phillips said the judges were im­pressed by Mrs Kennedy’s sense of un­der­stand­ing the com­mu­nity’s needs through bring­ing new ideas into the or­gan­i­sa­tion.

“Ali­son is a pas­sion­ate ad­vo­cate for women lead­ing busi­ness and com­mu­nity en­deav­ours and epit­o­mises ev­ery­thing the awards pro­gram rep­re­sents,” Ms Phillips said.

“Our win­ner has shown an abil­ity to cul­ti­vate a strong team, har­ness so­cial me­dia and drive new fundrais­ers.”
