Socceroo’s Celtic back in the hunt

SOCCEROO Tom Rogic’s Celtic beat Leipzig 2-1 yesterday to claw themselves back into Europa League contention.

With goals from Kieran Tierney (11th minute) and Odsonne Edouard (79th), the Hoops jumped to joint second in Group B equal with the German club.

Rogic played the full 90 minutes in central midfield, but fired over the crossbar in the second half, as manager Brendan Rodgers went for broke in a tight group.

English giants Arsenal and Chelsea both progressed to the knockout stages. Chelsea beat BATE 1-0 in Boriso, and Arsenal drew with Sporting 0-0 at the Emirates Stadium in London.
