End of an era for stadium

THE NSW Government has been given the green light to begin knocking down Sydney Football Stadium before the 2019 March election.

The Department of Planning and Environment yesterday approved the first stage of the redevelopment of the Moore Park stadium, involving its demolition and a concept proposal for a new one.

The approval includes a number of conditions, including the establishment of a community consultative committee before any heavy demolition starts.
