Co­bram and Dis­trict Spin­ners and Weavers meets ev­ery Tues­day at Yar­roweyah Hall from 10 am to 3 pm. Knit­ters and cro­cheters are welcome. BYO lunch.

The Co­bram His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety meets on the first Wed­nes­day of each month at the old school in Punt Rd. Meet­ings start at 8 pm. The so­ci­ety main­tains the Log Cabin and col­lects lo­cal items of in­ter­est to dis­play at the old school.. Ki­wa­nis Club

The Ki­wa­nis Club is a world­wide or­gan­i­sa­tion based in the US, but with our own Aus­tralia dis­trict. It is the sec­ond-old­est ser­vice club in the world and its fo­cus is ‘‘the chil­dren of the world’’.

The Co­bram-Ba­rooga club cur­rently has 11 mem­bers and is al­ways look­ing for new mem­bers. It meets on the first and third Wed­nes­day of each month. Weight Watch­ers

If you’re want­ing to lose weight in a nat­u­ral way, join Weight Watch­ers now. It’s not a diet, but a healthy lifestyle. No need to give up your favourite foods — you can still have choco­late or sweets, which can be in­cor­po­rated in a healthy lifestyle by mak­ing bet­ter choices. Be Con­nected

The Be Con­nected pro­gram for peo­ple who want to get on­line and in­crease their dig­i­tal skills is held at Co­bram Com­mu­nity House on Thurs­days from 10 am to noon. At­ten­dees will be sup­ported to ac­cess and use the Be Con­nected learn­ing por­tal. All welcome.

Arts so­ci­ety

The Co­bram and Dis­trict Arts So­ci­ety meets ev­ery Thurs­day at Ba­rooga Com­mu­nity Hall from 10 am to 3 pm. Come along and share friendship and a com­mon in­ter­est in art. If you like to draw, sketch, paint — acrylic, oil, wa­ter­color, char­coal — what­ever your medium, this will be for you. Bring along lunch, ma­te­ri­als and in­spi­ra­tion. Some ma­te­ri­als can be sought from the store­room if you are just start­ing out.

Fri­day night bad­minton at the Co­bram Sta­dium runs from 7 pm to 8.30 pm. Night fees are $3 per per­son and rac­quets are avail­able for hire. All ages are welcome so bring the fam­ily for a great so­cial ac­tiv­ity. For in­for­ma­tion, phone Mar­garet Wat­son on 5876 3221.

Al-Anon sup­port

If some­one else’s drink­ing is af­fect­ing you, Al-Anon can help. A weekly meet­ing is held in Co­bram. For in­for­ma­tion, phone 0438 625 347.

Men’s Shed

The Co­bram Men’s Shed in Punt Rd, next to Co­bram Com­mu­nity House, is open Tues­day to Thurs­day from 9 am to noon. Any men who would like a place for a chat and a cuppa with other men are welcome, as well as those who ‘miss’ their shed af­ter mov­ing from their farm or larger house. Rhyme and Sto­ry­time

Rhyme and Sto­ry­time is on ev­ery Fri­day at 10.30 am at the Co­bram Li­brary. Ses­sions be­gin with rhymes and songs, fol­lowed by sto­ries and then a sim­ple craft. Ba­bies, tod­dlers and pre-school­ers, with their car­ers, are all welcome to join in. Rhyme and Sto­ry­time con­tin­ues through the school hol­i­days.

Can­cer sup­port group

The Co­bram and Dis­trict Can­cer Sup­port Group meets on the first Fri­day of each month at 1.30 pm at Kil­lara House, Bank St, Co­bram.
