College leaders revealed
With St Mary of the Angels’ Year 12 students finishing classes and moving into exams, the next batch of senior leaders have been unveiled.
The secondary college enjoyed its traditional changing of the guard, with next year’s college leaders announced at the college’s end of year mass on October 23.
Vincent Barca from Cobram, Rosie Arnel and Sophie Morris from Numurkah, along with Kye Roberts from Katunga will officially lead the college in 2019.
Each student has excelled in the gruelling application and interview process to take the top spots.
Vincent said becoming a college leader was something he had really strived toward and said the lucky students were all thrilled to find out they had been chosen.
‘‘All of the candidates for college leaders had to go through a submission and selection process, before being interviewed for the role,’’ he said.
‘‘The process included candidates presenting a speech to the Year 7 students about why we thought we would make a good college leader and there was some tough competition.’’
The teenager said the new leaders would enjoy the holidays before returning next year to make their mark on the school’s culture.
‘‘We’re all really excited about the opportunity and we’re all looking forward to a really great year to come and see what it holds,’’ Vincent said.
