The Cobram Courier - - SPORT - By Patrick Tansey

Local racer Ben Hamilton enjoyed another successful weekend on the track in round five of the Australian Pulsar Racing Association at Tailem Bend, South Australia.

Hamilton managed results of fifth, fifth, fifth and third in his four races across the two-day event, finishing fourth overall.

Hamilton was extremely pleased to make the trip to South Australia and come away with a big result at a track he had never raced at before.

‘‘Since it’s a brand new circuit, everyone had to learn it and as the race weekend progressed, the car got a lot faster,’’ he said.

‘‘I felt I had the car speed to finish higher but a couple of mistakes from myself cost me. I only just missed out on the podium but I was still very happy with the result.’’

His consistent weekend of racing meant he was a chance of finishing in the top three of the championship standings, his major goal entering this year.

‘‘Currently I’m third in the championship going into the final round at Winton Motor Raceway on November 17-18,’’ Hamilton said.

‘‘It’s going to be a very tight battle for third in the series, so hopefully I can come out on top.’’

Hamilton thanked his sponsors Future Fitness 24/7, North Vic Engines, Cobram Hire, Intune Automotive, Betta Home Living Cobram and Artavilla’s Emporium for their ongoing support.

Off and racing: Ben Hamilton behind the wheel of his Nissan Pulsar.
